I've purchased eight homes over the years in various parts of the country, using some very talented realtors. Debbie Martin ranks at the top. I met her almost 2 years before I decided to purchase a home in The Villages. Debbie pro-actively kept in touch with me and was responsive to my many pestering questions during that entire time. As she and I monitored the market it became clear that it was time to pull the trigger.
Normally I would be nervous, being over 1000 miles away and not able to be local and present during the hunt and negotiations. But I was confident after a significant amount of interaction with Debbie that she knew exactly what I wanted in a house, including targeted location within the vast expances of The Villages.
Debbie saw "the" house hit the market at 10:00 one Friday morning. We had a short conversation and decided to make an appointment. After a noon FaceTime we decided to submit a bid. Debbie projected that there would be multiple bids by the end of the day so she got busy deciding on exactly what bid strategy, beyond price was needed to get that house for me. A unique challenge in that the normal bid process of counter bid, etc process over a period of time wasn't going to happen.
By the end of that day there were 4 or 5 other bids, but because of the very unique and creative bid package Debbie structured, by mid-afternoon on Saturday our bid was accepted and we and closed a few weeks later.
Remarkable!
Since then Debbie has been incredibly helpful my mostly remote post purchase process.

Hope Wilson was on board many months with us in our search to find a home for a family member. We had several criteria, the most difficult being our low budget. These properties were almost invariably bank-owned and some needed a lot of repairs. Whenever we balked at going beyond what we considered was a fair price in competition with other bidders, Hope was extremely sympathetic and patient and assured us we would find something else.
When we finally found a suitable property, she skillfully negotiated the deal. Even though from the beginning our search only promised a minimal commission, she devoted as much time to it as to a sale that would have netted much more reward. When the time came for my mom to move into an assisted living facility and needed to sell her home, she called on Re-Max to arrange a meeting with a realtor. Along came Debbie to guide my mom and I through …. Little did we know at the time what a large role Debbie would take on to make everything happen that needed to happen. From taking mom to visit some assisted living homes until closing day of the sale, Debbie was there for us every step of the way.
I live and work in Ohio and, due to the nature of my work, there are limited times of the year that I can travel- this wasn’t one of them. I am ever so grateful that Debbie willingly participated and became a liaison in evaluating and helping to decide on a new place for my mom to call home. Debbie helped coordinate mom’s move into her new assisted living new home… More than that, she made weekly visits to make sure mom was settled and comfortable. She essentially became a daughter and a sister to us.
Debbie was spectacular in the preparation and sale of mom’s home, and she put forth a tremendous amount of effort… and I do mean tremendous! She coordinated an almost complete remodel making the home into a real showplace. I am extremely pleased with the choices she made in the remodeling process- not only with the materials she chose, but the professionals she hired to complete the transformation.
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I can’t say enough great things about Debbie.
